4 Reasons Why Investing In A FitBit Will Change Your Life For The Better

admin | February 6, 2020

hhhhhhhhh

For a while, I had been pondering over whether to invest in a FitBit. I say invest because those things are not cheap.

Starting from $49 and upwards, FitBit felt like a bit of a fad (to me). Of course, I’ve tried various pedometers over the years, so this felt like a glorified version.

FitBits are “activity trackers, wireless-enabled wearable technology devices that measure data such as the number of steps walked, heart rate, quality of sleep, steps climbed, and other personal metrics involved in fitness.”

Last year, I struggled with swollen ankles, insomnia, constant fatigue and shortness of breath. I wanted to take matters into my own hands and give my health the attention that it needed.

So we reach 2020, the year of self care and nursing myself back to better health, and I finally got my hands on a FitBit inspire HR. I have to say – this is the best decision I ever made.

Here is why FitBit has become my favorite new accessory and why you need one too.

  1. Keeps you motivated – Being able to see my steps has given me more self awareness and pushes me to keep on moving. Every hour, Fitbit encourages me to take 250 steps. It alerts me to get my steps in 10 minutes before the hour, if it detects that those steps have not been completed.
  2. Allows you to log in your food intake and track your water consumption – Entering your food intake daily allows you to see the calories you eat against the estimated calories burned. Inputting your water consumption allows you to track your intake and set up digital reminders which allows you to meet your goal.
  3. It monitors your sleep – Wearing your tracker to bed, helps you to track your sleep patterns i.e. length of sleep and how often you get up during night. Knowing this information helps to develop better sleeping habits.
  4. The Challenges – Nothing keeps you more motivated than bit of healthy competition with friends. The challenges allow you to compete against friends, inspire each other, compare steps and provide encouragement by cheering each other on. I love that it gives that extra push to meet daily targets and hold yourself accountable.

Who knew that having a FitBit on my wrist could push me to make better decisions and improve your overall mood. It’s become a part of me and I never leave the house without it.

5 Online Grocery Shopping Stores to Try

admin | February 11, 2013

hhhhhhhhh

Taking a trip to the local grocery store can often be a chore and a half especially when you work longs hours, have small kids or have problems getting around and about.

Although, there aren’t any local stores that do home deliveries, a lot of the big chains have realized the huge demand and are jumping on the bandwagon; many of them even offering instore low prices and free shipping. Below is a list that I have personally tried and tested and serve the North East Pennsylvania area.

Netgrocer

Netgrocer’s operates from a ShopRite in New Jersey, so as well as the popular and more pricier brand names on offer, you have the option of purchasing shoprite branded products. Shipping is a flat rate of $9.99 and everything from bakery and grocery to frozen and household items are on offer. Frozen items have to amount to $35 or upwards. If ordering non frozen and perishable items, shipping is usually quick. Netgrocers have a lot of offers that they run through the year – Its a great idea to check the coupon sites, their facebook page and twitter to see if they are running any specials before embarking on a grocery shop with them. NetGrocer delivers to APO/FPO (military) addresses.

Soap.com

This has to be one of my favorites. They sell a lot of hard to find items and international products. I came to learn about soap.com through its sister store diapers.com (which I’m sure a lot are familiar with). As soon as they introduced groceries, I was immediately sold. They have a free next day delivery option ( $39 minimum to get free shipping). You just need to remember to get your order in before 6pm the day before (Mon-Fri). The only down side is they don’t delivery frozen and perishable goods but apart from that the customer service is great. Always be sure to check out their ecoupons page to see if their are any offers that you can take advantage of.

Kosher.com

Kosher.com also ships frozen and perishable items. They require a minimum of $50 on all orders and there is no minimum on frozen or deli products. They have a wonderful bakery section with speciality items like rugalach, challah bread and gift baskets. When they have sold out of an item in your order, they call to offer you alternative products, which gives a nice and personable touch to their customer service. Shipping ranges and depends on the weight of the items in your cart.

Walmart.com

I recently walmart when I found that I could earn ebox tops by shopping with them online. Walmart offers free shipping on items $45 and upwards. Not all their product are offered online, but they still have a huge selection to choose from; even their ‘Great Value’ range is available at the click of a button. You can also order and have your graceries delivered to the store for pickup. Alot of their online items are in bulk so you do get good value for money. Non perishable and frozen food is not available online.

Amazon.com

Last but not least…the webs favorite retailer. Amazon offer value deals on bulk grocery items. They sell many hard to find items. Shipping is free on items over $25. Non perishable and frozen food is not available online with Amazon Grocery.

There are still items I love to get at my local Aldi, but I do find shopping online cost effective (especially with the bulk buying) and less stressful; no worries about parking, crowded stores and the cost of gas to and fro and I find with Walmart, their online prices match that of the store.
