Recycle your used car seat and receive a $30 Walmart gift card

Retail giant Walmart is teaming up with TerraCycle to host their first ever car seat recycling drive. The event in connection with National Baby Safety month, will take place in nearly 4,000 Walmart stores from September 16 till September 30th, 2019.

‘Customers can trade in used car seats at the Service desk in any participating Walmart store and receive a $30 Walmart gift card* that can be used in store or online to buy items for their baby. All car seats collected in this program will be recycled through TerraCycle, and each component will be diverted from the landfill.’

Traditionally car seats are non recyclable, but TerraCycle, an innovative waste management company specializing in hard to recycle products is making it possible.

Since 1998 PEEC’s nature day camp have provided a wide range of fun activities for campers Activites include hiking, playing games, and exploring a national park under close supervision by trained camp staff. The camp runs from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm and transportation service is available at $50 a week from either Milford Health Center or the Bushkill General Store (Pickup times are 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.). The camp will begin on June 29 and run thru to August 21.

Registration Open for Camp Invention

Now in its 25th year, Camp Invention is an annual camp that stimulates the minds of young inventors by exposing them to a fun-packed summer full of lasting memories.

Inspired by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Camp invention offers a hands on educational experience taught by local certified educator.

The program promises vital problem solving skills:

  • Be challenged by real-life innovators who have changed the world – wait until you see what the inventor of the digital camera wants you to invent!
  • Build and compete in your team’s freestyle racing cart
  • Prototype your very own epic video game level where you create your own characters and decide how your hero saves the day
  • Push your limits while taking apart old machines and inventing new ones
  • Create and innovate with your friends

3rd Annual NEPA BlogCon (Bloggers Conference) returns on October 11 with Blog of the Year Awards

It’s that time of the year again. NEPA Blogcon is back for its third consecutive year and promises to be bigger and better than before with a new format, new presenters and a new cause.

Since 2012, NEPA BlogCon has remained the region’s only blogging and social media conference, designed to bring together bloggers of all experience levels, as well as those interested in marketing, social media, and communicating through the internet. It’s also an excellent event for marketers, small business owners, and students, with tracks focusing on marketing, technology, and blogging for business.

This year’s conference will be held on October 11, 2014 at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA and will include beginner and advanced sessions on topics including social media in sports marketing, finding your photographer’s voice, using Facebook to grow your business, blog monetization, brand building, and getting started with YouTube. The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) Summer Day Camp offers environmental themes camp programs tailored made for young environmentalists. The programs offers 7 different sessions specially designed to suit different age groups.
